(WCYB) — One year after a lockdown at Bristol Regional Medical Center as police worked to subdue a man, the family of 41-year-old Matthew Stoddard is suing the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, saying deputies used excessive force, which led to his death. The incident happened on May 22, 2024. Through a Freedom of Information Act request, News 5 received body camera footage and the 911 calls to dispatch.

ROAN MOUNTAIN, Tenn. — A Roan Mountain man has been arrested following a joint investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Cybercrime and Digital Evidence Unit and the Weakley County Sheriff's Office. The investigation began in February when TBI agents and Weakley County detectives looked into a report involving a 9-year-old sending child sex abuse material to an adult male via Snapchat. Hunter Chase Ellison was identified as the user of the Snapchat account in question.
