Tusculum — The spring drills came to an end Thursday night for the Tusculum Pioneers football team under the leadership of Billy Taylor in his 2nd year as head coach. It was their annual spring football scrimmage between the orange and black, a lot to work on following the 1-9 season. Pioneers quarterback Richard Hunter runs the option and pitches to Jake Barbuto, who picks up a sizable gain before being brought down.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh, Taylor Pannell crushed a two-run walk-off home run to center field, lifting No. 4 Tennessee to a 4-2 victory over Auburn on Thursday night at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. The Lady Vols (35-9, 10-6 SEC) rallied late to take the series opener, scoring all four of their runs in the final two innings. After five scoreless frames, Auburn (27-18, 4-15 SEC) broke through in the top of the sixth, plating a pair of runs to take a 2-0 lead.

MACON, Ga. (April 17, 2025) – The ETSU baseball team dropped its series opener at Mercer on Thursday night by a score of 5-1. Thursday’s loss moves ETSU’s record to 25-11 and 6-4 in SoCon play. Carter Fink, a Macon, Georgia native, turned in one of his best starts of the season. Fink threw the first seven innings against the Bears and allowed three runs on six hits to go with four strikeouts. Despite the quality start, Fink saw his record dip to 6-2. ETSU was limited to five hits in game one.

Johnson City, TN — It was a busy day for the ETSU Buccaneer basketball team, less than 24 hours after bringing on 6’8 forward Jordan McCullum from Murray State, the Bucs got two more Thursday. One of the Bucs’ division I transfers is Brian Taylor II, a 6-foot-4 junior guard from SIU-Edwardsville who played in 34 games for SIU-Edwardsville. The St. Louis native helped lead SIUE to the OVC championship last season and to the NCAA tournament, where they lost to Houston.
