JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 12, 2025) – ETSU men’s basketball announced the signing of 6’8” transfer forward Jordan McCullum on Monday, adding the rising sophomore to the roster via the transfer portal from Murray State. Originally from Harriman, Tennessee, McCullum played his freshman, sophomore, and senior seasons at Harriman High School and his junior year at Huntington Prep in Huntington, West Virginia, where he played alongside current Buccaneer Maki Johnson.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 9, 2025) – Brian Taylor II will look to do at ETSU what he did at his previous stop: play in the NCAA Tournament. ETSU head coach Brooks Savage announced the signing of Taylor, a 6’4″ guard from St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday. Taylor comes to the Bucs from SIU Edwardsville with one season of eligibility remaining.

Washington Co. TN — Even though teams had locked in a spot in the upcoming regional tournament, who would be declared district champions was decided in Thursday night softball and soccer title games. In Jonesborough, top seed David Crockett needed to beat Unicoi County twice in the Class 3-A playoffs to win, and they did just that behind the pitching and hitting from Madelyn Dulaney as the Lady Pioneers won the championship with scores of 6-0 and 4-2.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 8, 2025) – ETSU men’s basketball announced the signing of forward Blake Barkley on Thursday, adding the 6’8” redshirt sophomore out of the transfer portal from Northwestern. Originally from Morgantown, West Virginia, Barkley prepped at Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut and was a three-star power forward in the 2023 recruiting class. He redshirted his first year in Evanston and played 12 minutes as a redshirt freshman, collecting four points and four rebounds.

CHATTANOOGA, TN – No. 1 Walters State capped off an undefeated TCCAA/Region 7 Tournament run on Thursday afternoon, run-ruling Pellissippi State 12-1 in the Championship. With the win, the Senators improved to 53-6-1 overall and have won 19 games in a row. Jack Torbett led the way at the plate for the Senators with two hits and two runs scored. Torbett was named the MVP of the Tournament after collecting eight hits and playing stellar defense in the field.
