A second man has been charged in a 2024 shooting that injured three teens on the last night of the Minnesota State Fair. Abhor Abdiasis Mohamed, 19, of Minneapolis, was charged with three counts of aiding and abetting attempted murder and two counts of aiding and abetting drive-by shooting. He was booked into Ramsey County jail on Friday and remains in lieu of $2 million bail. His first court hearing has not been scheduled.

Authorities are asking the public’s help in finding a woman they believe is being held against her will and who was last seen in West St Paul or South St. Paul. The BCA and West St. Paul police are helping Sioux Falls police search for Shalene Ball, 35. They believe she is in danger after receiving information she is being held against her will, authorities said. They ask anyone who has seen her to call 911.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has appointed Kelly Staples as a Dakota County District Court judge to fill a vacancy in the First Judicial District. Staples will replace Judge David L. Knutson and will be chambered in Hastings. “It is my privilege to appoint Kelly Staples to the Dakota County bench,” Walz said in a press release Friday.

Ramsey County has agreed to pay $3.6 million to settle a family’s lawsuit after a 37-year-old man with hemophilia died following his 2022 arrest in St. Paul. The lawsuit alleged that the county and four correctional officers violated Dillon Dean Bakke’s right to adequate medical treatment under the Fourteenth Amendment. The lawsuit was brought by the law firm Meshbesher and Student P.A. on behalf of Bakke’s mother, Teresa Marie Schnell of St. Paul.
