March 11, 2025 – Washington Co., WI – A couple neighbors phoned in for details regarding a crash Sunday afternoon in the area of I41 near Obermeyer’s 41 Auto Body, just past the Allenton on ramp to I41 southbound. According to Washington County Sheriff Martin Schulteis the call came in at 4:27 p.m. on I41 southbound at Wildlife Road. Witnesses said a vehicle was swerving on the Interstate when it cut across traffic and crashed. The State Patrol handled the call.

After posting the position in January due to the promotion of Rebecca Schneider to Assistant Superintendent, the district received a highly competitive pool of candidates. Mr. Heun rose to the top due to his extensive experience in education, exceptional leadership skills, and commitment to student success.

December 10, 2024 – West Bend, Wi – Dolores L. Terlinden, 100, of West Bend, WI, passed on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Kathy’s Hospice surrounded by her family. She was born March 23, 1924, in the Town of Barton to the late Herbert and Olga Kocher (nee Peterman). Dolores married the love of her life Ervin H. Terlinden on June 23, 1945, at Peace UCC in Kewaskum, where she was a life member. Dolores worked at Power Products for 30 years until she retired.

GRANGEVILLE — The Syringa Hospital Foundation Thrift Store made a significant contribution to the hospital this month. The Thrift Store’s funds, raised during the last two years, enabled the foundation to contribute $192,500 to purchase a new laparoscopic tower for the Syringa surgery center. A tower like this is necessary to provide a minimally invasive surgical approach.

The US labor market cooled notably last month as both hiring and wage growth slowed more than economists had expected in April. The US economy added 175,000 new jobs and the unemployment rate rose to 3.9% last month, new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed Friday. Wall Street economists had expected nonfarm payrolls to rise by 240,000 and the unemployment rate to remain at 3.8%, according to Bloomberg data.
