June 26, 2025 9:30 a.m. Roseburg Police cited two men for drinking in public on Wednesday. An RPD report said just before 6:30 p.m. an officer contacted a 54-year-old and a 71-year-old with open beers, sitting on the sidewalk in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson Street. They both poured out their beers and were issued citations. The men were also given city exclusion notices before being released.

An RPD report said at 5:30 p.m. officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Northwest Angela Court after a 33-year-old allegedly broke a window and punched two holes in the wall at the residence. The man was taken into custody without issue.

An RPD report said at 7:40 p.m. officers contacted the 63-year-old at CHI Mercy Medical Center on Northwest Stewart Parkway after he was allegedly creating a disturbance in the Emergency Room waiting area. The man reportedly refused to leave after being discharged.

Oregon’s unemployment rate was 4.8% in May and 4.7%in April, after rising gradually from 4.1% in May 2024. An Oregon Employment Department (OED) release said the state’s unemployment rate was 1.2 percentage points higher than the recent low of 3.6% during spring 2023. The U.S. unemployment rate was 4.2% in both April and May.

June 20, 2025 10:30 a.m. Roseburg Police cited a woman for prohibited camping on Thursday morning. An RPD report said at 9:00 a.m. the 49-year-old had a camp set up under the pavilion in Fir Grove Park in the 1300 block of West Harvard Avenue. The camp was in violation of the time and place portion of the city’s camping ordinance. The woman was released after being cited.

June 20, 2025 9:50 a.m. Roseburg Police jailed a man for a warrant on Thursday afternoon. An RPD report said at 1:50 p.m. the 40-year-old was found in the back of a van which a Community Service Officer was having towed in the 500 block of Northeast Nash Street. The officer believed the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. It was confirmed and he was taken into custody without incident. The man was detained without bail.

An RPD report said at 5:50 p.m. officers contacted the 31-year-old at Eagles Park in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson Street. The location is part of the downtown exclusion zone which officers knew the man had been excluded from. The man was taken into custody without incident and was transported to corrections.

June 19, 2025 10:00 a.m. A transient was jailed for second-degree disorderly conduct on Wednesday night. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 10:30 p.m. the 48-year-old was reported as causing a scene near the 3800 block of Cole Road in the Oakland area. The man had allegedly abandoned a pickup in a nearby ditch. She was detained without bail. He vehicle was picked up by a towing company.

An RPD report said at 8:50 a.m. officers contacted the 65-year-old in the 1100 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. Officers had knowledge that the man had an unworked warrant for his arrest our of RPD. He was taken into custody without incident.
