Jefferson Parish officials have opened a new $2-million pickleball complex at Metairie's Mike Miley Playground, which they say is the largest public complex in the region. The Jefferson Parish Recreation Department Pickleball Complex, located at 500 Pickleball Court behind the Ree Alario Multi-Purpose Center, contains nine covered pickleball courts, as well as benches, bleachers and a 17-space parking lot. The new complex will implement a "bucket system" to rotate players at eight of its courts.

After a candidate in the Jefferson Parish Council District 1 race sent out campaign mailers with endorsements from 13 elected officials, one of them says he never endorsed her or gave permission to use his name. Andrea Manuel, a Democrat from unincorporated Gretna, included interim District 1 Council member Joe Marino, No Party, on a list of officials in support of her candidacy in a flyer recently delivered to district residents.
