The Kove Collective & Suites, 126 W Herrick Ave. in Wellington, celebrated a grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony June 7. The event was well attended by community members and local supporters who had the opportunity to meet owner Malery Klingshirn and providers who offer services in the suites. “The Kove Collecting is kind of encompassing a bunch of different local businesses all in one,” said Klingshirn.

The Oberlin Public Library hosted the Summer Reading Kickoff Fun Fest June 7 at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 17 E. Vine St. in Oberlin. Many community members, including children, spent time in the park celebrating the start of the library’s summer reading program for kids and adults with a variety of activities.

The Vermilion Chamber of Commerce will host the 59th annual Festival of the Fish from June 13-15 in downtown Vermilion. The festival consists of a weekend full of events taking place in honor of Vermilion’s history as a thriving fishing industry, according to Sandy Coe, executive director of the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce. “This was such a fishing town, that’s kind of how Festival of the Fish came about,” Coe said.

Lorain Public Library System South Lorain Branch, 2121 Homewood Drive, hosted the Urban Farm Volunteer Day. The event took place June 4. The program, which is part of an ongoing partnership with Lorain County Community College, invites volunteers to help maintain the large garden at the library, according to Danielle Coward, manager of the South Lorain Branch.
