The cell phone ban at the country’s second-largest school district will begin early next year, and now officials are detailing just how the massive change will take effect. The Los Angeles Unified School District voted to ban cell phone use during the school day in June. It’s set to go into effect on Feb. 18, 2025, which is about a month later than the original implementation date.

The man injured in a violent house explosion on Monday is fighting for his life in the intensive care unit, his family tells KTLA. Manny Fabrigas had finished a father-daughter cycling event on Sunday, and since he was incredibly sore from the excursion, he decided to take Monday off from work and rest at his home, located in the 2800 block of Gale Avenue in Long Beach.

A $20,000 reward is being offered in the search for whoever brutally beat and ran over a Marine who died in Bellflower earlier this year. Law enforcement investigators and devastated family members spoke about the incident and their search for the killers of 42-year-old Peter Chounthala during a news conference Wednesday. “Peter was loved by many.
