TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The Tyler City Council has approved a $2.1 million construction contract for a water line extension in north Tyler to boost water pressure. The contract to build a 12-inch water line extension from Highway 271 to FM 14 and North Broadway Avenue was awarded to A.E. Shull and Company. According to the city council the move is meant to boost water pressure in the north and northeast area of Tyler and will close a critical gap in the City’s water system.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The Tyler Police Department is planning to create a hub for training both cadets and current officers. The city said in a release that city council has approved a $1.8 million contract to renovate the former National Guard Armory on East Commerce Street into a state-of-the-art regional police training facility. The space will include classrooms, locker rooms, a gym and scenario-based training areas, the release said. This project is funded through the Half Cent Sales Tax.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - City council has approved a $12.6 million contract to upgrade the Lake Tyler Raw Water Pump Station. This station is one of the most important links in the city’s water supply, city officials said in a release. It delivers raw water from Lake Tyler to the Golden Road treatment plant, where drinking water is made available for half of Tyler’s homes, schools and businesses. But, the city says the electrical equipment there is near the end of its useful life.
