Click here for updates on this story FAIRFIELD, California (KGO) -- Brown Pelicans, which live along the Northern California coast, are being found in alarming numbers and rescued, and the International Bird Rescue in Fairfield says people are bringing in the weakened starving birds every day. One brown pelican was found starving to death at a Napa County winery over the weekend. Another two young birds came in last week from Cotati and Daly City.

NAPA, Calif. (KGO) -- The Bay Area mother accused of killing her two children in a DUI crash faced a judge again on Tuesday. Police say the mother Yesica Barajas was drinking -- and smelled of marijuana at the time of the crash back on March 16. The judge heard arguments on why the defense team believes the 31-year-old mother should be released on bail, saying there are less restrictive means to protect the public, other than incarceration.

Car manufacturers and dealers are often still making official announcements about coming price increases, which is causing anxiety among would-be buyers. The Walnut Creek Toyota dealer sold 70 cars over the weekend as they push on their website, "the tariff clock is ticking". Many would-be car buyers are accelerating their search.

PITTSBURG, Calif. (KGO) -- A tragic car accident over the weekend took the life of a 23-year-old woman who was set to get married this summer to her fiancé, a former Cal football player. He is hospitalized in critical condition after the pair were struck by a speeding stolen car. At 12:41 a.m. on Sunday, Villamalia Polina Tu'ipulotu and her fiancé, Beaux Tagaloa, left a family gathering in Pittsburg. A speeding car rammed into their SUV near the corner of East Leland Road and Gladstone Drive.

DUBLIN, Calif. (KGO) -- From Napa to Santa Cruz, many Bay Area residents say they felt the big jolt of a 3.9 earthquake on the Calaveras fault in the East Bay. It struck at 7:46 p.m. Monday night in Dublin in the hills just north of Interstate 580. The Calaveras fault branches off from the Hayward fault in the South Bay and runs up to Danville, generally on the west of Interstate 680 when you get between Sunol and San Ramon.
