The cause of an overnight fire that damaged four garage bays at Cape Cod Collision in Barnstable is under investigation. At 12:35 a.m. Sunday, crews from the Barnstable Fire Department were dispatched to 146 Thornton Drive for a call of a structure fire in a large commercial building. "The fire was brought under control through an aggressive interior attack to ensure the fire did not spread to an adjoining building and adjacent structures," Fire Chief Christopher A. Beal said in a press release.

According to published reports, the call for the fire came in Sunday evening about 6:30. Flames and smoke could be seen for miles around. Fire crews from Yarmouth, Brewster, Harwich, Barnstable are on scene along with the Provincetown canteen.
