Fire crews respond to massive fire at former Anthony’s Cummaquid Inn in Yarmouth Port Linda MurphyYARMOUTH PORT— Fire crews are on the scene of a massive fire at the former Anthony's Cummaquid Inn on Route 6A. According to published reports, the call for the fire came in Sunday evening about 6:30. Flames and smoke could be seen for miles around. Fire crews from Yarmouth, Brewster, Harwich, Barnstable are on scene along with the Provincetown canteen.

Longtime state Sen. Mark Montigny is set to keep his seat for the state's 2nd Bristol Plymouth District, according to unofficial results. For the Democratic primary election he faced newcomer Molly Kivi, of New Bedford. Montigny, of New Bedford, received 7,248 votes, or 80.1% to Molly Kivi's 1,805 or 19.9% with 83.84% est. vote in as of 10:57 p.m. according to unofficial numbers. There are no Republicans on the ballot for November.

FALL RIVER — A powerful storm sweeping across the area today has left homes without power and downed trees and poles across Greater Fall River. The storm, which traveled up the East Coast over the weekend, is causing lots of damage around Eastern Massachusetts, as wind guests in Massachusetts and Rhode Island have topped 60 miles per hours and have even required Logan Airport in Boston to stop all planes.
