Margie CullenUSA TODAY NETWORK - New EnglandStarting with registration for the 2027 Boston Marathon, at least five minutes will be added to qualifying times from courses with a net-downhill of 1,500 feet or more. Courses with a net-downhill of over 6,000 feet will not be allowed for qualifying. The BAA said that they annually review Boston Marathon qualifying rules and worked with data scientists to make this change.
