    A 15-year-old and two dogs were rescued from an abandoned well shaft on Saturday, officials said.Crews from the Nevada County Consolidated Fire District responded to the shaft just before 7 p.m.Officials said the teenager descended into the 15 to 20-foot deep shaft in an attempt to rescue their pets. But instead, they became stuck as well. The fire district said that after about an hour of maneuvering and a vertical rope rescue, the teenager and both dogs were brought to the surface.

    Easton kicked off the first day of Pride Month with its first-ever citywide Pride festival which brought hundreds of attendees — many decked out in colorful rainbow gear — to the city’s downtown. City officials joined with LGBT advocates to raise a rainbow pride flag in the city’s Center Square Sunday afternoon, commemorating the beginning of a month that celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and other related identities.

    A teenager was killed in an early Sunday morning crash near Freedom High School. According to a news release from the Bethlehem Township Police Department, police responded to the scene of the crash at about 1:28 a.m. Sunday near the 3000 block of Chester Road, where Freedom High School and East Hills Middle School are located. A group of teenagers and two vehicles were involved in the crash. A 17-year-old male collided with a parked car and died at the scene, according the news release.

    The Lehigh Valley was spared from severe weather like damaging winds and lighting following a Friday night storm, but most of the region saw between one to two inches of rain and some waterways are at risk of flooding. The inches of rainfall cap off the wettest May on record for the region, with 8.71 inches of rain from May 1 through 28. The Lehigh Valley was under a flood watch until midnight Saturday.
