SDC is in more than 6o cities across the country and offers free, primarily preventative, veterinary care and related services to people who are at risk of or are experiencing homelessness.

LEXINGTON CO., (WOLO)- Meet Yukon! Unfortunately, this sweet boy has grown up at Lexington County Animal Services, and would really love to finally experience the love and care he deserves in a home. Yukon came to the shelter as a 3 month old puppy. He is now 9 months old!Shelter staff think Yukon is a lab-hound mix. He is a sweet and loving boy who loves to play with other dogs, and even has fun entertaining himself if he doesn’t have a buddy.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- Meet Norman! Norman is not just a hound dog! He’s an Olympic gold medalist and #1 Good Boy looking for his forever home, for real this time. Sweet Norman was found as a stray in bad condition. Shelter staff say he was very weak, thin, lethargic, and had a piece of a chewed rope hanging from his collar. His collar even had his owner’s name and phone number on it.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- May 20th is National Rescue Dog Day, and there’s some amazing dogs in our local shelters looking for their forever homes. But like with any dog, a little bit of training, whether by a professional or on your own, can go a long way to ensure the best outcome for both the dog and the adopter. Justin Collett with Columbia Dog Training Elite joined us live in studio this morning to share some tips for folks bringing their new rescue dog home.

LEXINGTON, SC (WOLO)- Pepper, spice, and everything nice! This sweet girl is Pepper and she can’t wait to go home with you!Pepper came to Lexington Animal Services through their Managed Intake Program- a program if someone can’t keep their pet, the shelter works with them to find another adopter or a rescue to hopefully prevent the animal from going into the shelter. Unfortunately, Pepper ended up at the shelter and has been patiently waiting for about a month to find her forever home.
