GROTON - There is "no information" to suggest the discovery of three sets of remains found in eastern Connecticut and western Rhode Island are connected, City of Groton police said Friday. "We have not been contacted by any other agencies," said City of Groton Capt. Patricia Leiteau, whose department is investigating the discovery of human remains near a cemetery on March 19. City of Groton police is one of three departments in the area investigating the discovery of human remains in recent weeks.

SIMSBURY - Connecticut State Police have shut down their firearms training range on Nod Road in Simsbury to look into the possibility of elevated lead exposure, a spokesperson for the agency said in a statement. A safety shutdown was initiated April 4, with all live firearms-related training temporarily halted while the agency and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration conduct a "comprehensive evaluation of occupational health risks," the spokesperson said.

GROTON-Connecticut Environmental Conservation police are investigating a report of a suspicious man following a hiker at Bluff Point State Park in Groton in early April, officials from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said. The incident occurred on April 3, with the hiker first calling Town of Groton police to report that he had been followed, but the case was turned over to state officials after it was learned it happened at a state park, police said.

BRIDGEPORT -An arrest warrant said Joe Thompson, known as hip-hop artist Joe Grits, who has been vocal about the police shooting death of his friend Dyshan Best, was arrested Monday on charges he threatened Bridgeport officers with social media posts that included "somebody should die with a badge on." Thompson was served with an arrest warrant Monday night charging him second-degree threatening and inciting injury toward persons or property.
