Cedar Summerstock Theatre will pay homage to the harmonizing guy groups of the 1950s and 1960s when it opens “Forever Plaid,” on July 6 at the Krapek Family Performing Arts Center at the Cedar River Complex in Osage. The musical revue features songs as familiar as the clean-cut faces that populated the popular music of that era.

Grey skies were broken up by waves of vibrant hues over Clear Lake on Saturday, as the annual Color the Wind kite festival took flight. Though North Iowa was handed its most significant snowfall of the season Friday night, Mother Nature was no deterrent to the crowds who descended upon the lake to take in the colorful display of kites of all sizes.

Though North Iowa was handed its most significant snowfall of the season Friday night, Mother Nature was no deterrent to the crowds who descended upon the lake to take in the colorful display of kites of all sizes. Kids and adults alike joined in the event by flying handheld kites of their own alongside some of the giant, ice-staked kites that soared above.
