The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Wednesday, as they hosted the West Hancock Eagles in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. The Eagles entered at 6-5, while West Hancock entered at 0-10. Eagle Grove got off to a quick start, putting up a run in the 1st off a Crystal Flores sac fly to take a 1-0 lead. Scoring would stop until the 4th when West Hancock put up 2 runs off an error and a steal of home to go ahead 2-1.

The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls softball team returned to action on Wednesday, as the two faced on another in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 1-11, while CGD entered at 0-12. Webster City got on the board first with 2 runs in the bottom of 1st to take a 2-0 lead, before the Lynx would blow the doors off the contest with a 10-run 2nd inning to take a 12-0 lead.

Ryen, a native of Ida Grove and a 2013 graduate of OABCIG, is best known as a former All-Big 12 punt returner for the Iowa State football program from 2014 to 2017, garnering 1st-team All-Big 12 honors in 2016, while also recording over 1,000 receiving yards in his career.

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls softball team returned to action on Tuesday, as they hosted the Rockford Warriors in non-conference action at CGD High School. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows entered at 0-11, while Rockford entered at 3-9. Rockford set the tone from the get out, putting up a 13-run 1st inning, as CGD responded with 3 runs of their own in the bottom half to have the score at 13-3 after the first.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows entered at 6-12, while Rockford entered at 0-10. Rockford would get on the board first with a pair of runs in the top of the 1st to take a 2-0 lead, before CGD answered with 3 runs in the bottom half on a Jacob Ruba RBI single and a Huxley Lingenfelter 2-run RBI single to put the Cowboys ahead 3-2.
