    This week the Grundy Center City Council passed on the 2nd readings ordinance amendments that would increase the water and sewer rates by 2 percent for each beginning July 1st. The Grundy Center council passed on the 3rd and final reading an ordinance amendment to add no parking along the north side of 235th Street along the Sports Complex. The Grundy Center City Council also approved the fiscal year 2026 city employee wages effective July 1st.

    The Franklin County Board of Supervisors Monday at 9:15am will hold a public hearing pertaining to an application from NEW Cooperative, Incorporated to expand the company’s anhydrous ammonia storage and pumping facility at 1389 Wright Avenue east of Rowan. The Franklin supervisors will discuss the public health and home care transition to Franklin General Hospital, and will discuss holiday pay in regard to Labor Day.
