The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration says more than $10 million will be available for utilities and related companies to use in their efforts to prevent electric outages and improve the state's electric grid.     Little Rock (KATV) — According to the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management Fire Services Office, the Arkansas Fire Service is made up of 1,003 fire departments statewide. Only 28 of those departments are staffed by career, fully paid firefighters. The remaining 974 departments are either fully or partially staffed by volunteers. Those numbers mean a staggering 97% of the state's firefighters are volunteers.

    Cabot, ARK. — The Cabot Police Department is grieving the loss of one of their officers. According to the Cabot Police Department Facebook page, Detective Christian Weir died in a single vehicle crash early Saturday morning while he was off duty. Detective Christian Weir, Cabot Police DepartmentWeir is survived by his wife Bailey who is expecting the birth of their first child. Cabot Police Chief Scott Steely met with Weir's family after the accident.
