Cinncinati-based grocer Kroger announced this week that four Metro Atlanta stores will be closing by the end of 2025, leaving some regular customers searching for new groceries and pharmacies. Locations in Alpharetta, Atlanta, and Decatur will shutter by mid-September as part of a national effort to shutter underperforming Kroger stores. Skye Hill Kroger in Brookhaven, located at 3855 Buford Highway, will be the last to close on Oct. 18.

Brookhaven's $78 million new city hall, scheduled to open in August, is experiencing a colorful setback. The dome atop Brookhaven's City Centre was intended to reflect muted tones of thecity's signature colors - blue and green, consistent with the design vision supported by the community, mayor, and city council members. The City of Brookhaven adopted the fiscal year 2025 millage, stormwater, and street light district rates at its June 17 meeting after a tense public comment session.
