Around 11 p.m. Thursday, deputies received reports of a possible sexual assault at Plum Canyon Park in the 18800 block of Skyline Ranch Road in Saugus, said Deputy Robert Jensen, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “Deputies arrived on the scene and located an adult male and an adult female,” Jensen said.

Just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, CHP officers were notified that a carjacking suspect was headed south on the 14 Freeway, which was stolen out of the Palmdale area, according to officials. The victim was able to track the vehicle and relayed to CHP Newhall Area officers and deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, the whereabouts of his car, according to officials with the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

The Lower Lagoon remained closed Thursday, as dive teams continue to search for 61-year-old Espiridion Philip Camez, who went missing Sunday afternoon while paddleboarding on the Lower Lagoon, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials. Camez’s paddleboard has been recovered, but investigators are still searching Castaic Lake for his whereabouts with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau-Emergency Services Detail, according to the LASD.

Between May 27 and May 31, deputies alongside multiple other country agencies cracked down on illegal food vendors across the Santa Clarita Valley, according to Deputy Robert Jensen, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “We shut down 18 street vendors in total across the Santa Clarita Valley, seizing approximately 7,600 pounds of meat, liquid and other food products,” Jensen said.
