SAN ANGELO, TX — Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officials stocked about 600 channel catfish into the Concho River in downtown San Angelo on Friday as part of the state’s Neighborhood Fishin’ Program. The fish were released near the river section between Oakes and Irving streets. Stockings will continue every two weeks through the end of October, with the next scheduled release on April 25. The program aims to make fishing more accessible by placing fish in urban waters across Texas.

SAN ANGELO, TX - A San Angelo man who impersonated an 11-year-old child and persuaded a 9-year-old female child to produce child sexual abuse material was sentenced Tuesday to 50 years in federal prison, announced Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham. James Wilson, 57, was indicted in September and pleaded guilty in December 2024 to Production of Child Pornography and Transportation of Child Pornography.
