BUTTE — Montana Tech's volleyball team wrapped up a busy week of camps on Friday. After several stops on the eastern side of the state earlier this week, the Orediggers returned home to host a two-day camp for high school players that gave Tech an opportunity to see the game from a different vantage point. "I think it helps a lot with how I talk to my teammates," said junior setter Rhys Layton.

BUTTE — Caleb Bellach joked that his hiring as the next Manhattan High School boys head basketball coach was so recent he hasn't received any team gear yet. The former Manhattan Christian Eagle, Montana State Bobcat and Montana Tech Oredigger was in Butte on Saturday with the Tigers for a summer tournament and noted that it felt a little different guiding a team from the bench rather than playing himself.

DILLON — After graduating from Montana Western in 2018, Ryan Sullivan very much wanted to stay in Dillon but realized that it might be best for him to venture elsewhere for awhile. After coaching stops in Cut Bank and Casper, the Sidney native — who played basketball for two seasons at Western under Steve Keller and then transitioned to football — ultimately settled at Sheridan High School for five years where he helped turn a program that had been struggling into a state champion.

BUTTE — For the third straight season, Team Blue prevailed in the Bob Cleverley 8-Man All-Star Game. Culbertson graduate and Montana football commit Bridger Salvevold scored a go-ahead touchdown on a quarterback keeper with 25 seconds remaining as Team Blue rallied out of an early double-digit deficit to prevail 28-23 in the 41st edition of "The Clev" on a toasty Saturday evening at Bob Green Field. It was Team Blue's third straight win in the series.
