BUTTE — One of the original high school baseball teams to debut in Montana back in 2023, Dillon is still looking to make an inaugural appearance at the state tournament. The Beavers took another step toward making that happen on Friday at 3 Legends Stadium, scoring three runs in the first inning and then holding on in the seventh to outlast Butte High 3-2 as Dillon improved to 5-1. Andrew Bartlome, Trenton Moreni and Cohen Hartman all scored in the first inning to put the Beavers up by three runs.

DILLON — Montana Western football's first season in its new on-campus stadium was one to remember. The Bulldogs went undefeated at home in the regular season, claimed consecutive Frontier Conference titles and then — at home against Dickinson State in the second round of the NAIA Football Championship Series — surged past the Blue Hawks as Western secured its first playoff victory since 1994 and second postseason win ever.

BUTTE — As high school baseball continues to grow in Montana, the obvious benefits of being one of the original teams that debuted back in 2023 isn't lost on Butte High head coach Jim LeProwse. "They're a little more experienced now, we have a pretty good senior group," said LeProwse. "Our junior group is strong, every class is playing varsity this year. There's some guys I'm really excited about.
