GADSDEN, Tenn. (WMC) - For more than two days, authorities searched for the driver of a vehicle that was totaled in a crash in Crockett County. In an update Monday night, the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department said that they found the person who they believe is the driver, and that he said he was picked up from the crash scene and taken home unscathed.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC/Gray News) - Authorities in Tennessee say a citywide search for a missing boy has come to a tragic end. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, 5-year-old Kayden Nolen was found dead at the apartment complex where he went missing earlier this week. On Wednesday, authorities issued an alert for Kayden, who was diagnosed with autism, and went missing from the Lakeview Apartments in Meadow Lake.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department has arrested and charged a woman after finding six vulnerable adults living in “inhumane conditions” on a bus that was also towing several goats. MPD says the discovery happened Tuesday. The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Wednesday night that one of those vulnerable passengers has since died. Around 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, MPD officers responded to a medical call at the Goodyear shop located at 1200 Union Avenue.

(WMC) - The attorney for the man accused of going on a multi-hour shooting spree across the City of Memphis in 2022 said the defense is worried that it’s too early to go to trial. “This is not a normal case,” said Michael Scholl. His client, Ezekiel Kelly, is accused of killing three people and injuring four others while livestreaming on social media. Kelly’s trial is set for July 14, 2025.

As of Monday night, it’s at 28 feet and rising quickly. The flood stage, when the river starts going over its banks, is 34 feet for Memphis. (WMC) - The National Weather Service in Memphis has released more preliminary tornado reports from the storms that swept through the Mid-South Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. The NWS reports that Slayden, Mississippi, and Grand Junction, Tennessee, experienced the same EF-3 tornado with 150-mile-per-hour winds. Senatobia, Mississippi, also saw an EF-3 tornado with winds at 160-165 miles per hour.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department has three people detained and one arrested in Oakville after a stabbing that left a man fighting for his life Tuesday afternoon. Officers responded to the aggravated assault at 3:55 p.m., reporting an injured man at the American Way Transit Center. On the scene, officers spoke to a security guard who reported four men assaulting a man and stabbing him with a silver knife, according to police. The suspects then ran away from the scene.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC/GrayNews) - A doctor in Tennessee has been indicted on multiple federal charges stemming from an ongoing investigation. The FBI carried out a court-ordered search warrant last April at an east Memphis women’s clinic. This week, a federal 23-count indictment became unsealed, accusing Dr. Sanjeev Kumar of coercing at least four women to travel to Memphis to perform illegal sex acts between September 2019 and June 2024.
