A memorial for the Palm Sunday Tornadoes sits on the land that used to be owned by the family of Debbie Watters. Her family's life turned upside down after the tornado, but in the chaos that followed, the memorial brought peace and closure. Debbie Watters embraced being the little sister. Snow is expected to start Friday morning, although it will be light at the start due to dry air. As more moisture works in across the Great Lakes, snow will overspread much of the area by midday and stick around through the afternoon and early evening. Work is being done both inside and outside the Cass County Courthouse to restore the historic building. That project was supposed to be done this spring, but it was delayed. Cass County officials started with a plan, such as where the funds would come from, and what things would look like. And let's just say, with projects of this size, things came up that needed time and attention to detail. The inside of the historic Cass County Courthouse is much different now than it was a year ago.

Reading and writing are important lessons students learn while in school. This year, students at Coloma Intermediate put these lessons to use by having special pen pals, and on Wednesday, they got to meet. Not many people write letters anymore. But since December 4th graders have been exchanging hand-written letters with a pen pal. As Andres Delgado re-reads the first letter he received from his pen pal, he remembers the emotions flooding his mind.
