BATH TWP., Mich. — A person is found dead inside a home that was burned during a standoff with police officers that lasted most of the day on Tuesday. Bath Township police were called to a home on Clark Road near Watson Road about 9 a.m. after family called them asking for a welfare check. Once police arrived, officers say they heard numerous gunshots fired from inside the home. That prompted investigators on scene to call the Clinton County Special Operations Team to contain the situation.

The man accused of killing his mother in Summit Township Sunday has now died. The Jackson County Office of the Sheriff confirms that David McClure, 33, died Tuesday evening from injuries sustained in a deputy-involved shooting. Investigators say McClure charged at deputies with a weapon after they responded to a home on Robinson Road, south of Spring Arbor Road, Sunday evening. Deputies received a 911 call saying that something happened to McClure's mother. Investigators believe McClure acted alone.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is looking into a homicide and deputy-involved shooting that occurred around 7:20 p.m. Sunday evening in Summit Township. Deputies were called to Robinson Road, near Spring Arbor Road, to check on 55-year-old Karen Tobin. Deputies say a caller told them Tobin's son, 33-year-old David McClure, said that something had happen to his mother. Deputies say they arrived at Tobin's home and found her dead. No one was inside the home.

Lansing police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old man from a shooting. Officers were called to East Kalamazoo Street, near South East Street, around 9 p.m. on Sunday night. When they arrived, they found the unidentified man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died. Police recovered a possible vehicle involved, and have detained the occupants. Investigators are still looking into the timeline of the shooting and have not released any other details.
