Woman pleads guilty to stealing from Centralia Band Booster Club A woman accused of stealing almost $6,000 from the Centralia Band Booster Club pleaded guilty on Monday. Jeanie Whitlatch pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of stealing after she stole from the club in 2024. Court records show prosecutors amended her charge from a felony count of stealing to a misdemeanor. Whitlatch was given unsupervised probation with a 30-day suspended jail sentence.

Charges dropped in 2024 Fulton shooting Charges have been dropped against one of the three people accused in the deadly shooting of a Fulton teenager in July. Callaway County prosecutor Sandra Colhour confirmed Thursday that charges were dropped against Emmanuel Brown of Holts Summit. Colhour said in an email that the charges were dropped around April 15 due to "information gathered in the course of the ongoing investigation." His case was set to go to trial on May 13.

Lake of the Ozarks resort to open in 2026 The first phase of a new resort at the Lake of the Ozarks is now expected to open in Summer 2026. Todd Schneider, co-managing partner of SkyView Partners, told ABC 17 News the amusement park and parking garage at the Oasis at Lakeport are now scheduled to open next summer. The second phase, which includes the resort and water park, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.

Callaway County deputy back on patrol after October shooting More than 200 days after a suspect shot at two Callaway County deputies in October, both are now back on patrol. The sheriff's office said in a social media post on Tuesday that Deputy Gardner Pottorff returned to patrol on Monday night, 204 days after he and Cpl. Justin Bax were shot during a traffic stop on Interstate 70 in October. The post states Potorff will be partnered with Bax on patrol while transiting back to full duty.

Two Pettis County deputies shot while serving search warrant Two Pettis County deputies were shot while serving a search warrant early Friday morning. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A, the deputies were trying to serve a search warrant related to a drug investigation at a house in the 27000 block of State Highway BB. MSHP said a suspect started firing a gun, resulting in two deputies being shot. One deputy returned fire but did not hit the suspect.
