CARNATION, Wash. — Advocates for food access in Washington state are sounding the alarm over President Trump’s proposed spending bill. They say budget cuts will add to an already growing food crisis. At Hopelink’s Snoqualmie Valley Market, clients get to shop for the kinds of foods they need at no cost. “We are seeing unprecedented needs across the community experiencing poverty," said Hopelink CEO Meghan Altimore.

Larson was among them. “When they shot me, my arm just dropped and it felt like it was hanging,” he said.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Nearly two decades have passed since a mother and daughter were murdered while hiking a remote trail in the Mount Pilchuck area. The 2006 killings of Mary Cooper, 56, and her daughter Susanna Stodden, 27, remain one of Snohomish County’s most disturbing unsolved cases. Despite years of investigation, no arrests have been made, and the killer remains unknown. Detectives are still hoping someone will come forward with information that could lead to a break in the case.

SEATTLE — More than 274,000 Washingtonians could lose health insurance coverage over the next decade if President Donald Trump signs a Republican-backed tax and spending bill into law, according to recent non-partisan analysis. U.S. Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, both Democrats, joined a coalition of health care providers, patients and advocates at a Tuesday press conference to denounce the legislation, which includes nearly $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.
