Post Malone RodeoHouston NRG Stadium March 18, 2025"Hey Posty, we are going to drive you to the stage in a brand new Ford Expedition, but you're not allowed to drink or smoke in the SUV.""Don't worry about it, I'm just gonna walk."/end of hypothetical conversationAnd that's what I theorize happened last night at Post Malone's RodeoHouston debut. Instead of catching a ride or driving a cool car like other performers, Richard Austin Post chose to walk barefoot towards the star stage.

With the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo drawing to a close (see below), my thoughts turn to musical performances at rodeos of years past. The most memorable rodeo show that I have seen, hands down, was Elvis in 1970. Sure, it was “Vegas” Elvis, but he was still rocking like nobody’s business. Other highlights over the years included performances by Johnny Cash, Glenn Campbell, Buck Owens and Roy Clark, Merle Haggard and ZZ Top.

Grupo Frontera Go Tejano Day RodeoHouston NRG Stadium March 16, 2025Thirty-two years ago, Martha Leal de Cantú made the trip from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Mexico to attend RodeoHouston. She has joyful memories of the music, the people, and the food. She was a couple of months pregnant at the time, and always dreamed of returning to the rodeo with her son so that he might experience the same happiness she felt at Go Tejano Day.
