(KOAM) - As road construction ramps up across the state, the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will launch the 2025 Work Zone Awareness Week with a kickoff event in Joplin on Monday, April 21. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. at the MoDOT Joplin Regional Office, located at 2915 South Doughboy Drive. MoDOT will be joined by safety partners to share firsthand stories of working near traffic and the close calls they've experienced while maintaining Missouri's roads.
