Isn’t it crazy to think about how what we wear today would’ve probably made people faint — or at least clutch their pearls — 100 years ago? Today I want to look back at old and current trends, from corsets and strict dress codes to the athleisure and comfortable vibes of today. In the early 1900s, for women, it was all about corsets, long skirts and excessive hats. The goal was to look proper and, honestly, a little uncomfortable.

As we approach the end of the semester, it is almost inevitable to fall into a slump. We just ended the midterm season but don’t get much of a break before finals. Thanksgiving Break is here but we spend it studying and catching up on projects. It is easy to slip into a funk and fall out of routine during stressful times like this. Showcasing sustainable art is a priority for students in Professor Ward Allebach’s sustainability course. As a part of this class, the students made an Eco-Artisans exhibit on the WPU patio. On April 11, students in Allebach’s class hosted an Eco-Artisans exhibit as part of their class project. The exhibit featured recycled artwork made by students, faculty and artists in the Pittsburgh area.

Pitt softball (11-25, 3-12 ACC) has a crucial week ahead of them as they prepare to take on ACC opponent North Carolina (24-13, 6-9 ACC) at home at Vartabedian Field on April 12-14. The Panthers look to celebrate their alumni weekend and win the series as they face the Tar Heels for the first time this season. The Panthers are coming off a big win against Boston College, leaving them at 12th in the ACC standings. This victory marked the Panthers’ first ACC series win of the season.
