SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The Utah Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is an amazing world to discover. It’s located at City Creek Mall. Inside, it’s a who’s who of Utah sports royalty. Mae Miya not only works here for the Foundation, but she has also donated some of her own sports memorabilia for display, like a photo of John Stockton, Carl Malone, and Jeff Hornacek hugging at mid-court after Stockton’s game-winning shot that sent the Jazz to the NBA finals against the Chicago Bulls.

What is “vaulting?” Think of it as a cross between gymnastics and horseback riding. Tana has been vaulting since she was 4 years old. Her dad Brian says, “She would vault on anything from the armchair of the couch to the kitchen chair and we even had a little footstool that she would vault on.

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (KUTV) — Melissa Schaefer started her charity “Strengthen Her Utah” in Cottonwood Heights. She and several of her friends were all raised by single mothers, and Schaefer was aware of the challenges single moms and their children go through while trying to navigate life and school. “I was left out of a lot of activities like attending ski club and other school programs. We didn’t have the means, and my mom was busy trying to keep the family together," she said.
