DEVILLE, La. (KALB) - In the fall, he is Buckeye’s quarter. In the winter, he’s in the Panthers’ starting five. In the spring, he’s bringing the heat on the bump. “He was throwing bullpen along with tossing during basketball season in order to be ready,” said Panthers’ head baseball coach, Stuart Morgan. “Then, he was able to get out here after amazing run they had in basketball this year.” It seems as though, there is never an offseason for the junior pitcher.

BATON ROUGE, La. (KALB) - The Tigers bounced back from their slump with their 16-0 win over McNeese on Tuesday, April 10. Freshman pitcher Kade Anderson was a major contributor to the seven-inning victory as the lefty threw three shut-out innings, four strikeouts, and allowed one hit. ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Northwestern State football team is settling into spring practice with their first-year Demons’ head coach Blaine McCorkle. The Demons’ had a little bit of live action in an abbreviated spring scrimmage. Even though the live reps were limited, McCorkle and his staff were able to do team periods and focus on special teams. The energy that oozed out of Turpin Stadium today was unmatched, and Coach McCorkle was pleased with the progress.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) -Menard’s Kaylee Methvin is only a sophomore, but she is a veteran in the circle for the Lady Eagles. “She has been our go to, to start each game,” said Menard pitching coach Layni Smith. “Coming off of basketball, I was not sure what we were going to get, but she was ready to go.”The sophomore pitcher has been dealing in the circle for the Eagles’ this season, but it did not come without a little adversity in the front half of the season.
