All reported numbers will come from the North Carolina State Board of Elections or the Watauga County Board of Elections. Results reported on Election Day are unofficial projections for who will likely win each race. The Appalachian will not project a race for a particular candidate unless there is a statistical certainty the candidate will win. The county boards of elections will certify election results on Nov. 15.

Categories: November 5, 2024 The Plemmons Student Union voting site opened at 6:30 a.m. on Election Day in Watauga County along with 19 other sites in the county. There were four people in line when polls opened at the site. Many voters said they came early to avoid waiting in lines later in the day. “I just wanted to get here early so I could get in line, get through and get out,” said J.L. Laws, one of the first four voters at the student union voting site.

Pro-life social media influencer Lydia Taylor Davis visited App State Tuesday to speak about her stance on abortion with students. She partnered with App State’s Students for Life club as a stop on her university and college campus tour, “Abortion is Violence.”Davis spent the afternoon on Sanford Mall tabling with App State’s Students for Life club where she set up cameras and microphones for students to approach and debate her.

Izzy is a 4-year-old golden retriever who was originally a family pet. When COVID-19 struck, her original family became very busy and felt it was unfair to keep their pet in the house all day. When Chris Hogan, director of the Counseling Center first met Izzy, he said he immediately noticed her friendly personality would make her a perfect candidate for therapy training.
