Pete Serio retired as the Upper St. Clair girls basketball coach after this past season. The school literally stayed “in house” to find Serio’s replacement. Suzie McConnell-Serio has been Pete’s wife for 36 years, and the Upper St. Clair school board tied the knot with McConnell-Serio Tuesday night, voting her in as the team’s new coach.

Neshannock softball coach Jacalyn Lash has her squad on the verge of history, as they advanced to the PIAA Class 2A championship with a 12-1 win against Chartiers-Houston on Monday afternoon in a WPIAL finals rematch. Neshannock was the heavy favorite coming into the game. It was able to carry its confidence from the previous matchup against the Buccaneers 10 days prior and jumped out to an early 9-0 lead after the first inning.
