SAN ANGELO, TX – The newest discount department store in San Angelo, Ollie's, has opened in the Sunset Mall. As previously reported on June 8, 2023, the reconstruction of the former Bealls location began. The store celebrated their grand opening on October 4, 2023, with a huge sale on top of all of their already "cheap" stuff.

LAS VEGAS, NV – A San Angelo man earned the title of 2023 Lowrider of the Year after winning the 46th Annual Las Vegas Super Show with a car he modified here. Local car enthusiast Ray Canales, on October 1, 2023, won the car show for the second year in a row. A lowrider or low rider is a customized car with a lowered body that emerged among Mexican American youth in the 1940s.

SAN ANGELO, TX – Tonight is National Night Out, and with that, local law enforcement agencies across the Concho Valley are holding events to celebrate. Two of those agencies, the San Angelo Police Department and the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, will be hosting events. The SAPD will hold their event at the San Angelo Farmer's Market at 608 S. Oakes.

SAN ANGELO, TX – A favorite local street taco joint has decided to call it quits after more than half a decade in business. In a post sent out to customers on social media, on Oct. 3, 2023, Orlando and Anna Reyna announced that they have decided to close Reyna's Tacos. "It's with a grateful heart, our family has decided to retire Reynas Tacos for a while. It's been an uphill battle for a while now that has completely consumed our time and energy," stated the Facebook post.

SAN ANGELO, TX – Bath & Body Works has established a timetable for when its new brick-and-mortar store will open in San Angelo. According to the business, as of October 3, 2023, Bath & Body Works in the Sunset Shopping Center will open in fall 2023. Currently, crews are working on the inside of the store. The outside of the building is complete, and the sign is up on the building. The store is also looking for employees. Bath and Body Works has been a staple in the Sunset Mall for some time.
