SAN ANGELO, TX – The newest discount department store in San Angelo, Ollie's, has opened in the Sunset Mall. As previously reported on June 8, 2023, the reconstruction of the former Bealls location began. The store celebrated their grand opening on October 4, 2023, with a huge sale on top of all of their already "cheap" stuff.

LAS VEGAS, NV – A San Angelo man earned the title of 2023 Lowrider of the Year after winning the 46th Annual Las Vegas Super Show with a car he modified here. Local car enthusiast Ray Canales, on October 1, 2023, won the car show for the second year in a row. A lowrider or low rider is a customized car with a lowered body that emerged among Mexican American youth in the 1940s.

SAN ANGELO, TX – Tonight is National Night Out, and with that, local law enforcement agencies across the Concho Valley are holding events to celebrate. Two of those agencies, the San Angelo Police Department and the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, will be hosting events. The SAPD will hold their event at the San Angelo Farmer's Market at 608 S. SAN ANGELO, TX – A favorite local street taco joint has decided to call it quits after more than half a decade in business. In a post sent out to customers on social media, on Oct. 3, 2023, Orlando and Anna Reyna announced that they have decided to close Reyna's Tacos. "It's with a grateful heart, our family has decided to retire Reynas Tacos for a while. It's been an uphill battle for a while now that has completely consumed our time and energy," stated the Facebook post.
New Bath & Body Works to Open Soon in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX – Bath & Body Works has established a timetable for when its new brick-and-mortar store will open in San Angelo. According to the business, as of October 3, 2023, Bath & Body Works in the Sunset Shopping Center will open in fall 2023. Currently, crews are working on the inside of the store. The outside of the building is complete, and the sign is up on the building. The store is also looking for employees. Bath and Body Works has been a staple in the Sunset Mall for some time.

LEVELLAND, TX – The small community of Whitharral is mourning the loss of a 15-year-old student. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on October 1, 2023, at around 3:30 p.m., Texas DPS was dispatched to the intersection of Hartford Rd. and Jamaica Rd. for the report of a major crash. Once on the scene, DPS discovered a pickup that had rolled into the barrow ditch. This location is approximately 12 miles northwest of Levelland.

SAN ANGELO, TX – An 18-year-old San Angelo man's decision to shoot someone instead of engaging in a physical altercation landed him in jail with a $500,000 bond Friday after a shooting in southwest San Angelo. According to court documents, on Sep. 29, 2023, at around 2:06 p.m., San Angelo Police Officers were dispatched to 2575 Sunset Dr., at the Biomat Blood Bank, for a report of a shooting victim. By 2:15, the suspect was in custody, and the victim was rushed to Shannon.
Longtime Garage Bar Closes Its Doors

SAN ANGELO, TX – Larry's Garage Bar and Grill has confirmed some sad news on Monday with the announcement of the bar's closure. According to the bar's Facebook Page, on September 30, 2023, Larry and his staff hosted a going-away party. The party was planned after the owner, Larry Rubio, announced they would be closing down at the end of September. "Hello, everyone, this is Larry.
