ITHACA, N.Y. — Spring has arrived in Ithaca, bringing with it all the normal markers: birdsong, spring flowers … and for the next few days, hundreds of nondescript brown fish the size of your arm, splashing and wriggling their way up Ithaca’s shallow creeks to spawn en masse. These bottom feeding fish are commonly known as “white suckers” — or Catostomus commersonii, if you want to be a bit more formal.

ITHACA, N.Y. — The City of Ithaca is considering amending its zoning laws to regulate and encourage the construction of “mother-in-law” suites, known in the industry as accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Community members can share input on the proposal at an April 9 hearing at City Hall’s Common Council chambers. ITHACA, N.Y. — Local K-12 students again have the chance to design Tompkins County’s hottest election day accessory: the iconic “I Voted” sticker. The county’s Board of Elections is holding its third annual sticker design contest now through May 26. As befitting this year’s slew of local elections, the designs must have a local theme and include the colors red, white and blue, according to a statement from the county.

The Tompkins County Public Library’s staff is divided, relationships with partner organizations tested, and its director of two years is at the center of the turmoil. @jmmy_jrdn and I worked on this together for over a year. Hell of a reporter, that guy https://t.co/7G32KXnw8D
