LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Officials with the Kentucky Department for Public Health announced that two infants have died from pertussis in the past six months. According to a release from the state, neither of the infants nor their parents had received the pertussis immunization during pregnancy or infancy. These are the first pertussis-related deaths in Kentucky since 2018.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A lightning delay left some fans stranded outside Jim Patterson Stadium. They shut the gates ahead of the Super Regional game against Miami and didn’t allow fans inside again until the threat ended. Fans are still filing in, but Cards fans are finally getting settled after a 35 minute delay to start the game.

Currently, they aren’t allowing fans inside again until the threat ends. Some fans inside are being asked to move to a safer location. Once the severe weather threat passes, the stadium will reopen. Despite the weather, fans seemed determine to wait out the storm. WAVE’s Dusty Baker says that the projected first pitch is now 3:26
