TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A man will spend nearly four decades in prison for killing a Tohono O’odham Nation police officer. Carlos Maximilliano Galvan was sentenced to 44 years in prison during a hearing at the federal courthouse in Tucson on Wednesday, June 3. Galvan received credit for time served and will be on supervised release for five years at the end of his sentence. In February 2025, Galvan pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Officer Bryan Brown.

The Tucson Police Department confirmed the crash happened near the intersection of Golf Links and Kolb. The TPD said the other driver involved stayed at the scene. TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A driver was rescued after crashing into the Pantano Wash in Tucson on Tuesday, June 3. The Tucson Fire Department said it happened near East 29th Street around 3:30 p.m.The TFD said the driver crashed into the wash, and the vehicle landed upside down. The driver was wearing their seatbelt and suffered only minor injuries, according to the TFD. The TFD said crews used a “hot seat” to get the person out of the wash.

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Crews are responding to a new wildfire in the Huachuca Mountains on Tuesday, June 3. The Coronado National Forest said the Parker Fire started around 2:25 p.m.The fire, around 10 acres with no containment as of 6:30 p.m., was burning on the west side of the Huachuca Mountains. It is near Scotia Canyon, according to the Coronado National Forest. Two helicopters were called in to drop water on the fire while crews were hiking in to help.

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Authorities said a high school student from Tucson was caught with a loaded handgun on campus on Monday, June 2. The Tucson Police Department said Valente Lazaro Zambrano, 19, was arrested after bringing the gun to Rincon High. The TPD said Zambrano was arrested on a charge of felony disorderly conduct with a weapon. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
