A SOLICITOR has been interviewed by Gardai after they were accused of assaulting a female lawyer. The Irish Sun can reveal the legal representative met with officers in Dublin last week after a complaint was made against them. The lawyer has been accused of allegedly pushing another solicitor at a courts complex after a row erupted over a client. It’s understood that a work-related matter was at issue and also that the allegation of an assault was disputed.

GARDAI believed something criminal had happened to Tina Satchwell just over two months after her husband Richard told them she had disappeared, the Central Criminal Court has heard. Retired Sergeant John Sharkey, who was attached to Youghal Garda Station in 2017, said he became aware in late March or early April that Richard Satchwell had made a report at Fermoy Garda Station that she “departed the family home suddenly and without informing him”.

RICHARD Satchwell kept wife Tina’s body in a chest freezer before wrapping her in plastic and burying her under the stairs of their home, a court heard. And the truck driver told gardai she attacked him at their Cork pad with a chisel, his Central Criminal Court murder trial today heard. Mr Satchwell, 58, had told cops for six-and-a-half years that Tina left him when he returned home from a trip to Aldi in Dungarvan, Co Waterford, on March 20, 2017.

RICHARD Satchwell has denied the murder of his wife Tina in their Co Cork home eight years ago. The 58-year-old appeared before the Central Criminal Court today where he was arraigned in connection with her death in 2017. Satchwell, wearing glasses, a grey blazer, navy trousers and light blue shirt, stood to confirm his name. The charge was then put to him and the accused pleaded not guilty to murdering the 45-year-old at 3 Grattan St, Youghal, Co Cork between March 19 and 20, 2017.
