A Hononegah parent has filed a federal lawsuit alleging her son was bullied and harassed by football players and coaches after they learned that her letter led to them forfeiting a game to Harlem. JERICHO, Vt. (WCAX) - It was a sweltering Sunday for racers at the Ethan Allen Firing Range, but it didn't slow down the action in the North American rollerski biathlon championships. In the men's race, Sean Doherty took the lead about midway through and cruised to victory. Kelsey Dickinson was the star in the women's race, going a perfect 20/20 in shooting, en route to a victory. She finished just over a minute ahead of Deedra Irwin in second place.

CASTLETON, Vt. (WCAX) - For the second consecutive year, Vermont downed New Hampshire in the annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl. New Hampshire led 21-13 late in the second half, before two Vermont touchdowns put a bow on the victory. "The thing about football is those close games are what makes it so fun, you get an opportunity to make big plays, so that's what we did here today," quarterback Jack McCoy (Burr & Burton) said.

BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) - Thursday was a jam-packed night at Thunder Road that featured two late model races and the crowd-favorite port-a-potty grand prix. The first featured event saw Cody Blake take the first late models race, a make-up from the washout a week ago. To kick off the regularly scheduled festivities for this week, Brodie Frazier won both the golden plunger and golden toilet seat in the port-a-potty grand prix.

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - After 51 years of waiting, Burlington American's 10-12 baseball team had to wait one extra inning before celebrating its first title in over a half-century. BA and Essex Town were tied after six innings at seven runs apiece. In the top of the seventh, Jimmy Agnew sent a double out to center field that scored two runs. In the bottom half, Illo Heilenbach put the game away with a strikeout with the tying run at the plate.
Lake Monsters retire Pete Wilk's number

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Prior to Sunday's game against Nashua, the Vermont Lake Monsters welcomed family and friends of former manager Pete Wilk, as the team retired his number 45. Wilk's wife, Erin, and his two daughters were presented with his jersey after current and former players shared some of their memories of Pete with the crowd. "Pete was well-loved and he was honored last year with the support we got at Dig In For Pete Night," said his wife, Erin.
