After about 19 hours of deliberations this week, the jury did not deliver a verdict Wednesday on the charges of second-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter against Schurr. The charges stem from Schurr, then a Grand Rapids police officer, fatally shooting Black motorist Patrick Lyoya during a traffic stop April 4, 2022.
