    Young people at Bradford’s Fred C. Cook Public School are putting down roots for the future. Under the guidance of teachers and a representative from the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, the 387 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 took time May 12 to get closer to nature and dig in the dirt to help plant 60 native trees and more than 700 native pollinating milkweed flowers, many of which will be located in a naturalized area on the southeast section of the school grounds.

Since 2019, Sarah and Emily Dahlgren have raised more than $80,000 for various community causes in and around Bradford through their charity, A Bradford Christmas.

During their regular meeting on May 6, council endorsed an update to the green initiatives advisory committee’s progress on their 2023-26 work plan, which was discussed by the committee at their meeting on April 23.
