Young people at Bradford’s Fred C. Cook Public School are putting down roots for the future.
Under the guidance of teachers and a representative from the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, the 387 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 took time May 12 to get closer to nature and dig in the dirt to help plant 60 native trees and more than 700 native pollinating milkweed flowers, many of which will be located in a naturalized area on the southeast section of the school grounds.

Since 2019, Sarah and Emily Dahlgren have raised more than $80,000 for various community causes in and around Bradford through their charity, A Bradford Christmas.

On the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, which marked the end of the Second World War in Europe, Bradford revealed a special tribute to Canada’s military, past and present.
Dozens of people, including residents, veterans, dignitaries, town staff, first responders and members of Royal Canadian Legion branch 521 gathered near the intersection of Bingham Street and Holland Street East in Bradford for the official unveiling of a veterans crosswalk on May 8.

“Tremendous” costs and “long” processing times for developments could soon be a thing of the past in Bradford.
Based on a report from Jennifer Best, director of growth services, committee of the whole recommended May 6 that council endorse the town creating a concierge pilot program to expedite planning applications for certain developments in town.
“Our concierge program is just one more tool to improve our planning process,” Best said.
