DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Ahead of August’s municipal election, a Dothan businessman has thrown his hat into the race for District 4’s commissioner seat. Josh Chapman, owner of Open Key Property Management, announced his candidacy for the position. District 4’s current commissioner is John Ferguson, who has served his constituents for 12 years after being elected in 2013. In a release, Chapman describes himself as a devoted husband and father.

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WDHN) — A man accused of Attempted Murder is behind bars after police in Florida arrested him in Jackson County Tuesday morning. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says Brian Rich was arrested for a failure to appear warrant, which was for attempted homicide out of Washington County. JCSO says U.S. Marshals had been trying to locate Rich for several months, and that a tip showed that he was living in Jackson County.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — In a surprising twist, a popular spot in downtown Dothan is closing next week. Circle City Brewing Co. took to Facebook Monday night, announcing that their final days of operation will be April 15. “We vow to make this last week with you the absolute best and guarantee the same great service, food and drinks that you have come to expect from us,” The brewery said in its post.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Tuesday evening, a fire broke out inside a home on Falkirk Drive in the Highland Hills neighborhood on Dothan’s westside. According to Rickey Stokes news, fire crews arrived on the scene to find strong flames blazing out of the front of the home. Different crews from Dothan Fire were able to control some of the flames.
