    WASHINGTON, D.C. (WDHN) — Several Wiregrass veterans had the chance to visit the nation’s capital to see the monuments that honor the sacrifices made by our troops overseas. Funded and orchestrated by Wiregrass Honor Flights, these veterans were able to visit the Arlington National Cemetery, where they watched the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. There, our local veterans were celebrated and thanked by other visitors for their service.

    DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan United notched its third consecutive win Tuesday night, taking down LaGrange, Georgia’s UMA FC 2-0 in a friendly match at Rip Hewes Stadium. The Dragons wasted no time getting on the board, with Stephano Campisi netting the opener in the 10th minute. Campisi took a pass from George Jermy, weaved through the middle of the field, and fired a shot from outside the box into the top right corner.

    DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Monday evening, Dothan police responded to a home on St. Peter Street on an armed robbery call. According to Rickey Stokes News, that call ended with a standoff, and several people were taken in. That standoff ended peacefully, and it is unknown if anyone was injured during the incident.     TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — A Troy man is dead after being hit by two different vehicles Sunday night. Troopers with ALEA say that 47-year-old Wiley Morse was killed when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop. That driver then left the scene of the incident. ALEA says Morse was then hit by another car, a 2020 Nissan Altima, driven by a 25-year-old from Pansey. Morse was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash happened on Highway 231 near the 173 mile marker, three miles south of Troy.

    DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A body was found inside a vehicle on fire Monday, according to Dothan Police. DPD and Dothan Fire responded to the 3500 block of Napier Field Road near John D. Odom Road intersection just before 1 p.m. on reports of a vehicle on fire. Crews were able to extinguish the flames, but inside, police say they discovered a body. Investigators and Fire Marshals are working to determine what caused the vehicle to catch fire.
