DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — An Enterprise family and police force are mourning the loss of a beloved friend, father, and former police chief. Thomas Jones, known as TD, was a long-time Enterprise Police Chief who passed away after battling stage four cancer for seven weeks. “They gave him two weeks to a month to live, so we experienced a little longer than the doctors thought, so that was great. He got a chance to spend more time with the grandkids, so that was great,” said Justin Jones, Chief Jones’ son.

(WDHN) — A grand opportunity for a Houston County mom and her three kids has been ripped away after a home she was renting affordably and getting ready to move into was allegedly set on fire intentionally. Chelsie Lynn had spent over a month remodeling the home from top to bottom inside for the big move-in day on Sunday, when the fire happened.

The five candidates and their backgrounds were revealed during a special called Dothan City Board of Education Meeting on Thursday afternoon. The five candidates are:Dr. Donnie Chambers: Principal within Houston County Schools. Worked for DCS for 19 years. Dr. Garrick Askew: Current Assistant Superintendent of Clark County Schools in Athens, Georgia.
