ENTERPRISE, Ala (WDHN) — After a fire at the state-of-the-art veterans home in Enterprise displaced close to 100 veterans, a nursing home has welcomed them in with open arms. But loved ones of vets say the new change may take some time to get used to. The residents of the Benny G. Adkins Veterans Home were sent to the Enterprise Rehabilitation Center to live temporarily after an attic fire this week at the facility, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

A new voluntary recall is announced on Target’s baby food brand, Good & Gather, over  “elevated levels of lead.”The brand’s producer, Fruselva USA, declared a voluntary recall of 25,600 cases of the brand’s Pea Zucchini Kale and Thyme Vegetable Puree flavors. The FDA said this recall is a Class ll, which means exposure to the food could cause temporary or reversible health issues. The recalled containers have the best buy dates of December 7th, 2025.

Good Friday looks absolutley nice with very sunny conditions and highs in the upper 80s to possibly low 90s. The heat peaks on Saturday with temperatures around 89-90 degrees area wide, and the humidity beginnig o creep up as well. Easter will be slightly cooler with highs around 87 degrees with partly cloudy skies.

ALABAMA (WDHN) – The Alabama house filed a bill pushing to ban people from buying soda using SNAP benefits. Representative Mack Butler is sponsoring the bill. The measures of the legislation include requiring the Department of Human Resources to request a waiver from the federal government to exclude soda from SNAP until the waiver is approved. The department is required to complete the waiver process every year. Once the federal government accepts the waiver, the ban goes into effect.
