TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Women of Troy are heading back to the WNIT Great 8 after a heart-pounding 88-86 overtime win over North Texas Thursday night inside Trojan Arena. Trailing by one at halftime, Troy stormed ahead in the third quarter behind a dominant stretch from junior forward Zay Dyer, taking a five-point lead into the final frame. But a flurry of buckets from North Texas — along with some controversial calls down the stretch — gave the Mean Green a one-point edge with 16 seconds to play.
