BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Port Allen Police Department has instituted a zero-tolerance policy for children under 17 who violate curfew. Enforcement of the policy started on Thursday, May 29. A curfew ordinance states that people under the age of 17 must be off the streets and in their homes between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and midnight and 6 a.m. Friday to Sunday unless they’re with an parent or guardian. Exceptions to the curfew include emergencies, school or work.

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office responded to a Thursday night shooting near Greenwell Street that left one person hurt. Deputies responded around 9:40 p.m. to a shooting in the 7300 block of Richey Drive, where one adult was injured after an argument. EBRSO said injuries were non-life-threatening. EMS confirmed they took one person to the hospital in stable condition from this scene.
