A Garden City man remained jailed Saturday after he used his SUV to hit a woman walking in the Finney County Law Enforcement Center parking lot and then was shot at by a deputy he reversed toward, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and jail records. The relationship between the woman and man, both age 25, is still under investigation, KBI spokesperson Melissa Underwood said Saturday. The woman was treated and released from a local hospital.

The Kansas Food Bank in Wichita, which supplies 18 million pounds of food a year to agencies that help with hunger in 85 counties statewide, got a donation Thursday from Land O’Lakes for roughly 38,000 pounds of macaroni and cheese. It will start sending the food out Monday and Tuesday to food pantries and other organizations that support hunger.

A 42-year-old Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission enforcement agent was arrested on Friday on multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a child after law enforcement got a cyber tip, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said on Friday. The Ashland man was arrested just before 7 a.m. in Dodge City. He was booked into Ford County Jail, in lieu of a $75,000 bond, on suspicion of seven counts of sexual exploitation of a child, KBI spokesperson Natalie Turner said in a news release.
