For the second year in a row, the Lakeland School System has asked the Tennessee General Assembly to fund state-mandated Special Education prekindergarten programs. The annual budget for the services in LSS is around $600,000, which must come from its regular K-12 funding. “Special education preschool students throughout Tennessee do not get much funding.
